What We Treat
Podiatry Medic provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of foot, ankle and lower-limb conditions — from everyday foot and nail concerns to complex musculoskeletal, diabetic and vascular conditions.
We combine clinical expertise with modern diagnostic technology and evidence-based treatment to help you stay comfortable, mobile and active.
Foot & Ankle Pain
We assess and treat pain affecting the foot, ankle and lower limb, including heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon problems, forefoot pain, Morton’s neuroma, arthritis, bunions and other musculoskeletal conditions.
Assessment may include biomechanical and gait assessment, footwear advice and, where appropriate, custom orthotics and referral for imaging or specialist opinion.
Custom Orthotics & 3D Foot Scanning
Custom orthotics are prescribed following a comprehensive biomechanical and gait assessment for conditions including heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis, forefoot pain and recurrent injuries.
Where indicated, advanced 3D foot scanning captures the individual shape and structure of your feet. Your scan and clinical prescription are then sent to a specialist biomechanics laboratory in Australia, where your orthotics are individually designed and manufactured for your needs, footwear and activity.
Ingrown Toenails, Nail Surgery & Nail Bracing
We assess and treat painful, recurrent and infected ingrown toenails, with both conservative and surgical treatment options available.
For persistent or recurrent ingrown toenails, partial or total nail avulsion (ingrown toenail surgery) may be performed under local anaesthetic, with phenolisation used where appropriate to help reduce recurrence.
For suitable patients, nail bracing provides a non-surgical alternative to ingrown nail removal or surgery, gently encouraging a more natural nail shape as it grows and helping to relieve pressure and discomfort.
Fungal Nail Treatments
We assess and treat fungal nail infections, including thickened, discoloured, brittle or distorted nails.
Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include professional nail reduction and debridement, topical or oral antifungal treatment where appropriate, and medical-grade 980 nm diode laser therapy.
We take a comprehensive approach, considering factors that may affect nail health and treatment success, while providing advice to help reduce reinfection and support healthy nail regrowth.
Sports Injuries & Biomechanics
We assess sports and activity-related foot, ankle and lower-limb injuries, including heel pain, Achilles and tendon problems, recurrent injuries and pain associated with walking, running or sport.
Biomechanical and gait assessment can help identify factors contributing to pain or injury. Treatment may include footwear advice, rehabilitation guidance, customised orthotics and, where appropriate, referral for imaging or specialist opinion.
Skin & Nail Conditions
We assess and treat a wide range of nail and skin conditions affecting the feet, including thickened or damaged nails, corns, calluses, cracked heels, fungal infections, plantar warts and other common foot concerns.
Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include professional nail and skin care, reduction of painful lesions, advice on prevention and, where appropriate, laser treatment or referral for further investigation.
Diabetic, Vascular & High-Risk Foot Care
We provide comprehensive assessment and ongoing care for people with diabetes, circulatory concerns and those at increased risk of foot complications.
Assessment may include neurological and vascular screening, Doppler assessment of lower-limb circulation, skin and nail assessment, identification of pressure areas and monitoring for changes that may increase the risk of ulceration, infection or delayed healing.
Bunions, Toe Deformities & Arthritis
We assess and manage structural and arthritic foot conditions including bunions, hammertoes, painful or stiff joints and other toe and forefoot deformities.
Treatment focuses on reducing pain, improving function and relieving pressure. Depending on the condition, this may include footwear advice, padding or offloading, orthotics and other conservative treatments, with referral for imaging or specialist surgical opinion when appropriate.
Children’s Foot & Lower-Limb Conditions
We assess a range of foot and lower-limb concerns in children and adolescents, including foot and heel pain, gait concerns, sports-related injuries and problems associated with growth and development.
Assessment considers the individual child, their stage of development, activity levels, footwear and biomechanics. Where treatment is required, this may include advice, footwear modification, rehabilitation, orthotics or referral for further investigation or specialist opinion.
Routine, Cosmetic & Older Adult Foot Care
We provide professional podiatry care for people of all ages, helping maintain healthy, comfortable feet and manage common skin and nail concerns.
Treatment may include nail care, reduction of corns and calluses, management of thickened or difficult nails and cracked heels. We also provide ongoing care for older adults and people who may have difficulty managing their own foot care.
